There has been a decrease in deaths due to fentanyl solely in New Hampshire, however, at the same time, there has been a distinct increase in deaths relating to mixing fentanyl with other drugs such as methamphetamine and cocaine. From mid-July 2018 to 2019 there was a sharp drop from 75 to 44 deaths from fentanyl alone. Mid-July 2018 44 people died from mixing fentanyl with other drugs to 88 deaths in 2019. Due to the results, authorities are saying that although some aspects of drug usage are improving, the issue as a whole is not.
